Academic and Career Services
Graduate Students receive academic advising through their Graduate Program Advisors or Thesis Supervisors, rather than Academic and Career services. Your Graduate Program Advisor is your primary resource for information about degree completion requirements, registration, and adminstrative matters concerning your Master's or PhD. If you are unsure of who your academic advisor is, contact your graduate program chair.
Career Services provides career planning, job search strategies, feedback on resumes and cover letters, and interview preparation.
Accessibility
In collaboration with students, faculty, and staff at The University of Winnipeg, Accessibility Services (AS) and Deaf & Hard of Hearing Services (DHHS) facilitate and promote the ongoing development of an accessible learning environment which provides students with disabilities, mental health concerns, medical conditions and temporary injuries the opportunity to participate fully in all aspects of campus life.
Arts and Culture
Gallery 1C03 is the campus art gallery of The University of Winnipeg. Its mission is to engage diverse communities through the development and presentation of contemporary and historical art exhibitions and related programming initiatives. The Gallery is also responsible for the development, preservation and presentation of the University's art collection.
Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts is housed in Byce Hall on The University of Winnipeg campus. External to UWinnipeg, this is Manitoba’s premier independent music school. They offer individual music lessons and group music classes for beginners as well as for those in need of advanced musical instruction.
Campus Safety
SafeWalk and SafeRide Programs, are operated by the University's Security Services. They provide safe escorts within a certain radius of campus
The UW Safe App is a free mobile safety app for students, staff, and faculty. It sends important safety alerts and provides instant access to campus safety resources.
Child Care
The University of Winnipeg Students Association (UWSA) Day Care Centre provides service to the University of Winnipeg students, faculty, staff and community members.They welcome children between the ages of 12 months and 5 years.
Counselling and Health Services
The University of Winnipeg offers counselling and health services to all students for free at the Wellness Centre on the first floor of Duckworth Centre (Room 1D24). Please visit Student Wellness to learn more about available services.

Fitness and Recreation
The University of Winnipeg's recreation facilities are located in two buildings: the Duckworth Centre (400 Ellice at Spence) and the Axworthy Health & RecPlex (350 Spence between Portage and Ellice). Both buildings offer fitness, health and wellness, sports and recreational programming. Our facilities are open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public. The facilities are managed by the Department of Recreation Services, which is part of the Gupta Faculty of Kinesiology & Applied Health.

Graduate Student Lounge
Located on the fourth floor of Centennial Hall (4CM09), this is an exclusive space for graduate students to study and meet their peers. Email gradstudies@uwinnipeg.ca for access.

Research Support
The Library the library is a place a place of engagement, learning, creation, and belonging. They strive to contribute meaningfully to diverse literacies, responsible critical inquiry, and equitable access to knowledge, both at the University of Winnipeg and beyond.

Student Groups, Activities, Advocacy
The University of Winnipeg Student's Association (UWSA)'s mission is to provide advocacy, services, and support to students at the University of Winnipeg. Explore their website to find information about student groups and other initiatives.
Indigenous Students Service Centre
The Indigenous Students Service Center (ISSC) has been created to maintain a safe, educational, and culturally sensitive environment for all Indigenous students (First Nation, Métis, and Inuit) as they pursue their academic studies at The University of Winnipeg. ISSC offerings include the Indigenous Student Lounge, social and cultural events, and an Elder in Residence program.
Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre
The centre’s primary focus is on educational and cultural programs that are rooted in Indigenous language and knowledge to support community learning and engagement. Through these programs and supports, the centre aims to develop and strengthen pathways for Indigenous students to University, a part of which includes partnering with local schools to facilitate STEAM programming with an Indigenous lens.
The Wii Chiiwaakanak Learning Centre is open 5 days a week. Providing free and open access to the RBC Community Learning Commons (a computer lab with staff on-site to assist with anything from resume building and connections to other local resources), and an Indigenous-designed classroom accessible to community partners.

International Student Services (ISS) makes available a number of services for future and current students, from those allowing students to get settled at the University of Winnipeg and within the city to those related to a students' studies.

Immigrant and Refugee Student Services
Immigrant and Refugee Student Services (IRSS) was created to support immigrant and refugee students during their journey to UWinnipeg and beyond, through the pillars of recruitment, transition, and retention. Dedicated supports assist students through each step of the process.
Some of the services offered to UWinnipeg students through Immigrant and Refugee Support include:
- Personalized counselling on admission requirements, the application process, regulations and policies, and selecting a program of interest
- Assistance with course selection, registration and explanation of degree requirements
- Transition support, including academic advising, study skills workshops, and free tutoring
- Connection to supports such as career services, counselling, housing, and financial services
- An optional first-year Mentor Program
- Fun events and activities to meet and connect with other UWinnipeg students
