Graduate Program Application Fee

There is a one-time non-refundable fee required when submitting your application. This fee must be received by the University before your application can be assessed. This fee must be paid in Canadian funds, the rates are listed below: 

Domestic Student: $100.00
International Student: $120.00

The application fee can be paid online with a credit card when you submit your application through the Application Portal.  Visa and Mastercard credit cards are accepted.

Below are other methods if you are unable to make an online payment when filling out your application.


How to Pay Your Application Fee

There are several ways you can pay your application fee. Please choose the option below that meets your needs. 
NOTE: All money orders and cheques should be made out to "The University of Winnipeg".

VISA or Mastercard: to pay by VISA or Mastercard please contact Dagmawit Habtemariam, Graduate Studies Admissions and Tracking Officer, at d.habtemariam@uwinnipeg.ca to request a credit card authorization form.


Over the Phone

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we may be working remotely and unable to answer the office phone.

You can pay your application fee via credit card by calling the Graduate Studies Office at 204-786-9309. Be prepared to provide the following information:

  • Student Name (Last Name, First Name, Middle Name)
  • UWinnipeg Student Number (if known)
  • Credit Card Number (VISA or Mastercard)
  • Expiry Date
  • Security Code

In Person

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, in person payments are not being accepted

Methods of Payment: Cheque, Money Order, or Credit Card
Where: Graduate Studies Admissions Office 1RC023B, located in Richardson College for the Environment and Science Complex Atrium (599 Portage Avenue)

Methods of Payment: Cash or Debit Card
To make the payment via cash or debit card, you will need to go to two different locations, in this order:

First Step
Where: Graduate Studies Admissions Office 1RC023B, located in or the Environment and Science Complex Atrium (599 Portage Avenue)
Why: To set-up the charge on your student account. 

Second Step
Where: Student Central, 1st Floor Rice Centre (489 Portage Avenue)
Why: To make the application fee payment.


Wire Transfer

The University of Winnipeg has partnered with Flywire to offer a streamlined way to transfer international student payments. The mission is to save international students money that would otherwise be lost to bank fees and unfavourable exchange rates. Please be advised that your student number is required to use Flywire.
