The University of Winnipeg offers a variety of financial supports to assist you with funding your post-secondary education. As a new student beginning your journey here, you will want to check out the entrance awards that the University has to offer.

Some entrance awards will be automatically applied based on your admission average, while other awards will require an application. Students who are successful in receiving an application-required entrance award must register for classes in the session for which the award was offered. Only the Special Entrance Scholarship can be deferred for one year.

Any award funds you receive will be applied to your Fall, Fall/Winter and Winter Term courses.

NOTE: You must be registered by August 1 in order to receive your Entrance Awards (even if you are not starting until the Winter Term).


If you submitted a completed application for admission by March 1, you are automatically considered for a Special Entrance Scholarship.

The Special Entrance Scholarships are automatically offered to Grade 12 graduating students coming directly from a high school in Canada, and to international students from the United States, and to those studying Canadian curriculum abroad.
