Withdrawal Information & Procedures

Withdrawing from Courses or Requesting a Course Change

In order to withdraw from or change a course, graduate students must follow the steps below:

  1. Complete a Withdrawal/Course Change Form
  2. Have the completed form and change approved accordingly by their graduate advisor or designate.
  3. Submit the form to Eric Benson, Coordinator, Student Records; Graduate Studies, at e.benson@uwinnipeg.ca.

NOTE: All program-based fees for Masters programs are 100% non-refundable if program withdrawal occurs AFTER the add/drop date of the first term of acceptance.


2023-2024 Withdrawal Deadlines:

Fall courses beginning in September and ending in December:

September 18 - Deadline to withdraw and receive refund 

November 13 - Deadline to withdraw without academic penalty

Fall/Winter courses beginning in September and ending in April:

September 18 - Deadline to withdraw and receive refund

February 16 - Deadline to withdraw without academic penalty

Winter courses beginning in January and ending in April: 

January 19 - Deadline to withdraw and receive refund 

March 15 - Deadline to withdraw without academic penalty
