The Donald V. Snider Memorial Fellowship

This fellowship will support any graduate of a Manitoba university who is enrolled, or enrolling full-time, in one of following The University of Winnipeg/University of Manitoba Joint Master's Programs: Public Administration, Religion, Peace and Conflict Studies, and History. Recipients must also demonstrate excellent academic achievements.

Snider Memorial Fellowship is a tremendous gift, certainly because of the financial burden it lifts, but also because of the time it purchases for the student who would otherwise have to fund their studies through work or savings. Value

The 2025-2026 value of this award was $12,000.00. The 2026-2027 value is to be confirmed, but is expected to be similar.

Eligibility

The recipient of this fellowship must:

  • be a graduate of a Manitoba university
  • be enrolled or enrolling in one of the following The University of Winnipeg - University of Manitoba Joint Master's Programs: Public Administration, Religion, Peace and Conflict Studies, and History
  • demonstrate excellent academic achievements
Application Procedures

A completed application package includes the following:

  • A completed application form, which will ask the applicant to upload:
    • Official transcripts from each of the applicant's undergraduate and graduate institutions.
    • 1-2 page personal statement outlining your academic progress/personal goals for the coming year.
  • 1 academic reference letter sent directly by the referee to graduateawards@uwinnipeg.ca

All materials, including reference letters, must be submitted by the September 15 deadline.

Deadline

Applications for the 2026-2027 academic year open August 1 and are due September 15.
