Turf Installation update: Our manufacturer has communicated that raw materials necessary to produce the new artificial turf are in short supply, similar to many industries during the pandemic. Consequently, installation of the new turf has been postponed until the Christmas break. Replacement of the new turf will begin on Dec. 17th and end on Jan. 10th. We appreciate your patience as we work to schedule upgrades and activities in these unprecedented times.

All spaces must be pre-booked. To make a facility booking or rental request, please follow the options below:

External Individual/Group/Organization Requests: 

All external facility rental requests can be made online or by contacting our Operations Coordinator at st.esposito@uwinnipeg.ca. Please check out our our facility calendar and facility rental rates prior to making your facility rental request. 

Community Organizations: 

For organizations wishing to apply for community access time in the Axworthy Health and RecPlex, please read the Community Access Guidelines and submit your Community Access Application Form to Towela Mkanda at sport@spenceneighbourhood.org and Stefanie Esposito at st.esposito@uwinnipeg.ca. Please note that all applications are subject to committee review. For more information on the University of Winnipeg's commitment to the wider community, please see the Community Charter.

Staff and Faculty: 

The University of Winnipeg has established a process to allow some activities to return to campus. Check UWinnipeg's COVID-19 website for more information. 

 

 


FAQ

When will I receive confirmation of my booking request?

Allow for 2 business days to process facility booking requests. Please provide as much information as possible when making your booking request (i.e. description of activities, anticipated attendance, etc.). 

What is included with my facility rental booking?

Soccer nets and flags are included in RecPlex field bookings. 

If you require any other equipment, please let our Operations Coordinator know when making the facility booking request. We will do our best to accommodate, however, equipment/services will be subject to additional fees.

How do I gain access to the space I've rented?

If your booking is in the Axworthy Health and RecPlex (350 Spence Street) please make your way to the main floor Customer Service Desk located past the field doors. One of our Community Attendants will provide you access to your booked space.

If your booking is in the Duckworth Centre (400 Spence Street) please make your way to the Bill Wedlake Fitness Centre Customer Service desk. One of our Facility Attendants will provide you access to your booked space.

Can I view the facility schedule online?

Yes! Our facility schedule is available online and you can view each space separately. We encourage you took look at the schedule before making your request to see if your preferred time/date is available.

Where can I park?

The Axworthy Health and RecPlex has an underground parkade that you can access from Young Street. For more parking options close to the University of Winnipeg take a look at our campus map.
