Recreation Services
Axworthy Health and RecPlex Remains Closed
The RecPlex continues to be used as an emergency shelter for people who have been evacuated due to wildfires. During this time, it is closed to the University community and the public. The RecPlex parkade is only available to monthly parkers, accessible through the southeast stairwell (main entrance). The situation is fluid, and there is currently no end date for this closure. Further updates will be shared on our Building Updates page as they become available.

Welcome to Recreation Services at The University of Winnipeg, located on Treaty One Land, in the heart of the Métis Nation. The University of Winnipeg's recreation facilities are located in two buildings: the Duckworth Centre (400 Ellice at Spence) and the Axworthy Health & RecPlex (350 Spence between Portage and Ellice). Both buildings offer fitness, health and wellness, sports and recreational programming. Our facilities are open to students, faculty, staff, alumni and the public. The facilities are managed by the Department of Recreation Services, which is part of the Gupta Faculty of Kinesiology & Applied Health.
