Dr. Tabitha Robin, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Land and Food Systems at UBC, facilitates this session that is tailored for researchers who are interested in learning about ethics and Indigenous research. This session will provide an overview of the Indigenous ethical frameworks that are most often cited (OCAP, OCAS, National Inuit Strategy on Research, USAI, Chapter 9 of the TCPS 2) when conducting research that involves Indigenous Peoples and what their limitations may be, and a discussion on some of the best/most promising practices to engage ethically in Indigenous Research.
