Julia Ryckman, Legal Counsel Research, Office of the General Counsel, moderates this panel discussion exploring the patent application process. Joining Julia are Darren Fast, Director, Partnerships and Innovation, University of Manitoba, and Chris Dynowski, Registered Patent Agent at Ade & Company Inc. The panel will cover the following:

  • How to recognize potential IP (intellectual property) and how it’s evaluated for commercial potential;
  • Description of the patenting process and requirements for IP;
  • Working with commercial partners;
  • Agreements that may be relevant when collaborating.

There will be time for questions at the end of the panel discussion.
