Beginning University Successfully (BUS) Program

The Beginning University Successfully (BUS) program is a mature access program at the University of Winnipeg. Its purpose is to provide a path into the University for individuals who may not meet the traditional admission requirements.

The BUS Program includes 3 credit hours in Introduction to University in the fall term, and 6 credit hours in Academic Writing which runs through both the fall and winter term.  All classes are held at Merchants Corner, 541 Selkirk Avenue in our state of the art classrooms. Students will study within a welcoming and supportive environment and will have access to personalized academic advising and tutoring.

 

Admission to the program: 

  • Must be 21 years of age or over
  • Individuals who do not have grade 12

Grade 12 graduates who may want additional supports

Applying:

  • Complete the application form
  • Write a 500-word essay covering education, career goals and personal background
  • Provide proof of age
  • Submit official school transcripts to the University verifying highest grade level attained.

Upon successfully completion of the BUS Program students will be granted admission to the University of Winnipeg as a Mature Student.
