ECON-7102 (3 credits): Microeconomics

This course exposes students to the principles and techniques of microeconomic theory. Topics include the theory of the consumer, the theory of the firm, market mechanisms and general equilibrium analysis. The course offers a general framework to improve understanding of the resource allocation and the welfare consequences associated with policies such as taxes, subsidies, regulation, and government transfers. Case studies of government intervention in the economy are used to illustrate the theories examined.
