This course reviews a set of core topics in environmental economics such as the theory of externalities and the regulation of polluting activities. It examines environmental policy in the context of complexities arising due to imperfect competition, international trade, regulatory enforcement, and uncertainty. Specific attention is paid to environmental problems in developing countries.
