Alumni Association Annual General Meeting

Alumni Association Annual General Meeting (AGM)

(Immediately following our Alumni Homecoming Reception)

September 21, 2022

September is here, and with it brings the re-opening of campus and an opportunity for alumni to come together for two very important events:

The Homecoming Alumni Reception – 5 – 7 pm

Convocation Hall, 2nd Floor, Wesley Hall

The U of W Alumni Association Annual General Meeting – 7 - 8:15 pm

Leatherdale Hall (adjacent to Wesley Hall)

September 21, 2022

We invite all of our alumni to take this opportunity to gather together, share memories, and meet and hear Dr. Todd Mondor, newly- installed President of the University of Winnipeg.  Following this special Homecoming Reception, our Alumni Association invites you to take part in our 2022 U of W Alumni Association Annual General Meeting.

In addition to my President’s Report on our Council activities over the last year, and what we look forward to working on in the coming year, there will be elections for the position of President and for three vacancies on the Council. In June a call went out for interested alumni to apply for positions on our Alumni Council for 2022-2023.  The Council received one nomination for President, Judith Neumann, and one nomination for Vice-President, John Krahn.   The Council approved the suspension of our Bylaws for 2022-2023 to allow Judith to be the President for a third term.  We received 11 applications for council members.

A meeting agenda, brief candidate information, and ballot will be handed out to each University of Winnipeg Alumni member in attendance  prior to calling the meeting to order. Each candidate applying for Council will be asked to present a very brief (2 minute) introduction.

For those of you who will not be able to attend in person, but would like to join us on-line, please reply to alumnicouncil@uwinnipeg.ca

We ask that you confirm you attendance at our AGM by Monday, September 19, 2022

We look forward to seeing you on September 21st.

Judith Neumann,

President, U of W Alumni Association

The University of Winnipeg Alumni Association Council invites you to get involved by standing for election to Council. The Alumni Association is a non-profit organization that supports the goals of the University and promotes affiliation among graduates. We are looking for new members to begin three-year terms beginning at our Annual General Meeting.

The Council meets monthly, but members help with communications, events, and special projects outside of those meeting times. Council members also work with representatives on The University of Winnipeg Board of Regents. The University's vision for downtown Winnipeg and leadership in academic excellence, Aboriginal education, sustainability, theatre and arts make volunteering on Council a rewarding experience.
