Alumni Entrance Scholarships are among the most prestigious and generous in the province. Six to ten scholarships of at least $5,000 each are presented each year. Announced every year in June, the awards recognize Manitoba high school students with exceptional academic standing, outstanding extra-curricular achievements and leadership potential. Each school may nominate as many students as they deem worthy. Please contact your principal or guidance counsellor if someone you know should be considered.

Keeping Scholarships All in the Family

Two $2000 "Family of Alumni" Scholarships - exclusively for family members of University of Winnipeg - are offered every year by your Alumni Association. If you are an alum and have a son, daughter or grandchild interested in attending or already attending UWinnipeg, he or she may be eligible for these awards:

  • Entrance Scholarship - a first-year scholarship given to an outstanding student on the basis of high school credentials earned outside of Winnipeg. Applicants also must have participated in extracurricular activities in school and the community.
  • Achievement Scholarship - an award for a returning student – someone who has completed at least 30 credit hours at The University of Winnipeg and is returning to UWinnipeg to continue his/her studies. Applicants must document their involvement in extra-curricular activities on campus or other activities demonstrating innovation and entrepreneurship.
