Building An Inuit Art Centre In The South

Join the UWinnipeg Alumni Association and the Faculty of Graduate Studies on Wednesday, May 19 from 2:00 – 3:00 pm for a discussion led by Dr. Stephen Borys, Director & CEO of the Winnipeg Art Gallery.

His talk will explore his return to Winnipeg to lead the WAG in development of the Inuit Art Centre project, now known as Qaumajuq. In addition, Dr. Borys will detail his longstanding relationship with the University of Winnipeg as both a student and professor. After Dr. Borys’ talk, Dr. Dorothy Young will moderate a 30-minute Q&A session.

This speaking engagement will take place via Zoom and is held as a part of the Indigenous Studies course: IS-1016-Introduction to Indigenous Studies: Art, Culture & History. The instructor is Charlene Moore.
