Welcomes New Associate Dean

Dr. Glen BergeronThe Faculty of Kinesiology is pleased to announce that Dr. Glen Bergeron, a long time teacher, researcher, and administrator in the Department of Kinesiology and Applied Health has accepted the position as Associate Dean in the new Faculty of Kinesiology. 

Dr. Bergeron will be responsible for advancing teaching, research, and undergraduate and graduate program development in Athletic Therapy, and Health Studies. 

Dr. Bergeron champions the Heads Up Concussion Resource Institute, a partner of Concussion Resources Manitoba. Glen founded and co-Chairs the popular annual “Heads Up” fundraising Dinner & Auction in support of the Manitoba Brain Injury Association for the care and prevention of brain injury; and in support of Athletic Therapy student scholarships. 

He will also be a liaison between the Faculty of Kinesiology and the medical components of the forthcoming UNITED Health & RecPlex; and will work with others on advancing a Healthy Campus Initiative

Glen certified with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association (CATA) in 1975, and has served on the Canadian Medical team for five Olympic Games, most recently at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Glen can be found mentoring students and helping people feel better in the Athletic Therapy Clinic on Tuesdays and Thursday mornings.
