Biosafety Committee

The University of Winnipeg maintains a Biosafety Committee comprised of staff/faculty members knowledgeable in the use of biohazardous materials to review and permit activities in laboratory spaces on campus.

The Biosafety Committee at UWinnipeg is a subcommittee of the Workplace Safety and Health Committee structure, falling within the Science Lab Safety Subcommitee. The Biosafety Committee was established to support the University's activities in teaching and research which fall under the Human Pathogens and Toxins Act.
