RHET-4150 Rhetoric of Nonfiction

Monday and Wednesday, 2:30-3:45 PM
Jaqueline McLeod Rogers

Women with a penci drawing the futureWant to learn to read, write and talk about non-fictional narratives—stories about self and others, human and non-human interactions, cultural events and activities? Join us this Fall in Rhetorics of Nonfiction!

We will look at writers like Joan Didion, Sherry Turkle, Michael Chabon, and John Green to see how they draw from their lives to ask questions about life and place.

We’ll look at memoirs and first-person essays, at short and longer pieces, at traditional as well as experimental formats.

The class is seminar sized, so we’ll have time to pursue dialogue, questions and in-class writing.

NOTE: You can apply even if you are NOT in RHET Honours. Simply inquire: j.mcleod-rogers@uwinnipeg.ca
