Entering the Classics Honours Program

To enter the Classics Honours program, you will need to complete an Honours application form, to be reviewed by the department. Please follow the same instructions for completing a Major form online and submit this form to Dr. Peter Miller, Department Chair, at pj.miller@uwinnipeg.ca. The department will then forward the signed form to Student Central (registration@uwinnipeg.ca).

You may apply for entry into the Honours program after completing 30 credit hours. Entry, continuing, and graduation minimum GPA is 3.0 (B) in Classics courses and 2.5 (C+) in non-Honours subject courses. The minimum 3.0 (B) GPA will be based on all attempts (including course repeats and failures). The minimum 2.5 (C+) GPA will be calculated for the general degree (i.e., Fs are not included, and in the case of repeated courses only the highest grade will be used).
