Honours Program in History

History

The study of History deals with the past— it interprets human affairs and institutions as they change in time. The University of Winnipeg's History Department offers courses which are designed to lead students, in stages, to an understanding of the historian's craft and of the historical process.

For entry into the History Departments Honours program completion of  a minimum of 30 credit hours must be done.  Students must have approval of the Department Chair. Entry, continuing, and graduation minimum GPA is 3.0 (B) in Honours Subject courses and 2.5 (C+) in Non-Honours Subject courses.  The minimum 3.0 (B) GPA will be based on all attempts (including course repeats and failures). The minimum 2.5 (C+) GPA will be calculated for the general degree (i.e., Fs are not included, and in the case of repeated courses only the highest grade will be used).

Upon completetion of an Honours application form, Submit your Honours application to Dr. Mark Meuwese, Department Chair, at m.meuwese@uwinnipeg.ca. Once the application is approved,  the department will forward the signed form to Student Central.

If you require assistance or have questions about this form, please contact Sandy Tolman, Department Assistant, at s.tolman@uwinnipeg.ca.
