Indigenous Research Ethics and Cultural Studies

Fri. Nov. 22 12:30 PM - Fri. Nov. 22 01:20 PM
Location: 3C25

You are invited to join Dr. Chantal Fiola, Two-Spirit Métis scholar, as she discusses Indigenous methodologies and research ethics. Dr. Fiola will share lessons learned from her personal research journey to address questions such as: What is Indigenous research? What are the benefits and challenges of pan-Indigenous versus nation-specific approaches? How are ethics inextricable from methodology? In the discussion to follow, you will be encouraged to consider relationships between non-Indigenous scholars and these issues, as well as how the discipline of Cultural Studies can be informed by Indigenous approaches.

The CRiCS Professional Development Series is a series of workshops intended for members of the centre (researchers, students in the Cultural Studies MA program, research assistants) to gain new skills in a variety of different professional areas related to Cultural Studies and Cultural Studies research.
