Co-operative Education Program

Please read all of the requirements carefully.  In order to be accepted into the Co-op Program the following student requirements must be met:

1. Students must be registered in a degree program at the University of Winnipeg and will have completed 30 credit hours of study prior to their first work term
2. First Year Students can join the program provided that the above condition of 30 credit hours have been completed prior to their first work term (Spring Work Term in May) (Please see '3 a' notation below)
3. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 within their major
    and/or in the case of the following:
a) First year students: need to show an 80% average from high school as well as maintain a GPA of 3.0 throughout the Academic Year
b) Transfer/international students: must have minimally 30 credit hours of courses from another institution, with 15 credit hours are relatable to your current area of study and maintain a GPA of 3.0 throughout the Academic Year.

4. Students MUST submit all of the following in order to be considered:

a. A completed application form
b. A letter that states why they are interested in joining the Co-op Program
c. A recent Resume
d. Two references (they must be available for contact by our office)
e. An unofficial transcript (this can be a screenshot from WebAdvisor)
f. A signed Agreement to the Terms & Conditions of the Co-op Program

5. Students must be returning to University after completing their work term (no exceptions)**

6. Students may submit any additional information that may be relevant to gaining acceptance into the program. For example: portfolio of accomplishments *optional

 Note: The Co-operative Education Program provides professional training, supports and Co-op job postings, but does NOT guarantee students will be find employment for the work term.
