Being Present with the Past - Poetry Club
Wed. Apr. 1 01:30 PM
- Wed. Apr. 1 02:30 PM
Pause and silence the noises. Touch the page. Read the lines. Think and reflect. Connect the dots between past and present. Speak and belong. This is the path we will be following in our new poetry club “Being Present with the Past: Slow Reading of Ancient Greek and Roman Poetry”. The club creates a space to take a break from the busy life on campus and seize the day by savouring the experience of collectively reading one ancient poem at a time. No academic pressure. No previous knowledge required or any preparation. No assignments, just an opportunity to create meaningful stillness and build a poetry reading community on campus. Light refreshments will be provided.
Dates: March 18 and April 01
Time: 1h30 – 2h30
Location: 4C60
Moderated by Dr Flavia Amaral and Dr Peter Miller (Classics)
