If you DO NOT remember your email password:

Staff / Faculty who require an email account password reset should contact the Service Desk either by phone (204-786-9149) or email (servicedesk@uwinnipeg.ca) for assistance. You will be provided with a temporary password for your email account. Once you have a new, temporary password:

You will need to change the temporary password to a new, personal password through the web version of Outlook: http://email.uwinnipeg.ca

  • Enter the email address in username field and temporary email password then click on “sign in”. Once you attempts to log in ( http://email.uwinnipeg.ca), you will be prompted to change the email password.
  • It will ask you to put ‘Old password’, enter the current password for Outlook then create your own password which must be at least 8 alpha-numeric character and type it into the ‘New Password’ and ‘Confirm password’ fields and click on “Change Password” to complete the password process.
  • Once you have changed your email password you will be re-directed to your mailbox

 

 

Staff / Faculty member who want to UPDATE their email password to a new one:

Staff/ Faculty can update the current password to a new password through http://email.uwinnipeg.ca

  • Enter the email address in username field and current email password then click on “sign in”.
  • Once you have logged into the web version of outlook, please click on the “gear” icon on the top right side next to the "bell" icon. Once you have clicked on it, you will be presented with a number of options. Please click on "options" from the bottom of the list.
  • It will take you to the setting page. After that on your left side go to “General” and click on “My Account” and you will see a “change password” option on the bottom right side.
  • You can use the change password option to update the password to a new one.

 The new email password must meet the following criteria:

  • Your password must be a minimum of 8 characters
  • You can’t use previously used passwords.
  • At least one uppercase character from A-Z
  • At least one lowercase character from a-z
  • At least one number from 0-9
  • At least one special character! “ # $ % ‘ * + ) ( - . / ] [ ^ _   

 

 

Faculty and Staff who have a WebAdvisor/ Colleague Account and want to update their network password:

Please login with the current password to WebAdvisor  and change the password to a new one.

  • Once you have logged into the WebAdvisor using your current password, please click on the “change password” option on the top right side to change the password to a new one. Once you have clicked on it, it will be prompted to change the password.
  • The new network password must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Your password must be a minimum of 9 characters (to a maximum of 24)
  • At least one uppercase character from A-Z
  • At least one lowercase character from a-z
  • At least one number from 0-9
  • At least one special character! “ # $ % ‘ * + ) ( - . / ] [ ^ _   

 

Faculty and Staff who DO NOT have a WebAdvisor/Colleague Account and want to update their network password:

 

  • Once you have logged into http://up.uwinnipeg.ca using your network user and current password, it will be prompted to change the password to a new one.
  • The new network password must meet the following criteria:

 

  • Your password must be a minimum of 9 characters (to a maximum of 24)
  • At least one uppercase character from A-Z
  • At least one lowercase character from a-z
  • At least one number from 0-9
  • At least one special character! “ # $ % ‘ * + ) ( - . / ] [ ^ _   

 

 

Faculty and Staff who require a network password reset should contact the Service Desk either by phone (204-786-9149) or email (servicedesk@uwinnipeg.ca). Once you are provided a new temporary password, you will need to create your own personalized one. How to do that depends on whether you have a WebAdvisor/Colleague account or not:

Faculty and Staff who DO have a WebAdvisor/Colleague Account

  • Please login to the university-issued computer (user must be on campus) with the temporary password provided then login to WebAdvisor  to change the password to a new one.
  • Once the user attempts to log in to WebAdvisor, they will be prompted to change their password.
  • The new network password must meet the following criteria:

Your password must be a minimum of 9 characters (to a maximum of 24)

  • At least one uppercase character from A-Z
  • At least one lowercase character from a-z
  • At least one number from 0-9
  • At least one special character! “ # $ % ‘ * + ) ( - . / ] [ ^ _   

 

Faculty and Staff who DO NOT have a WebAdvisor/Colleague Account 

  • Staff/ Faculty member need to change the provided temporary password to a new password through http://up.uwinnipeg.ca after 24-hour time frame.

 

WARNING:

If you attempt to change your password within 24 hours, you will receive the following error message:  “Not enough time has passed since last password change”
