UWASA and CPA Manitoba Present: High Tea with Geeta & Benoit

Please join us for an exciting panel featuring Geeta Tucker, President & CEO, CPA Manitoba and Benoit Theriault, Regional Growth Manager, The Boyd Group Inc. The panelists will be sharing their personal journey into the accounting world and learning more about becoming a CPA. If you are planning or interested in a career in accounting this is a must attend event!

Panelist Bios:

Geeta Tucker, FCPA, FCMA, President & CEO, CPA Manitoba

Getta Tucker

Geeta received her accounting designation in 1997 and was named an Accounting Fellow in 2008 in recognition of her contributions to the profession. Shortly after receiving her designation, she relocated to Calgary to begin a finance career spanning more than 25 years. She held roles with Nortel Networks and Shaw Communications. In 2005, Geeta became the Chief Financial Officer with Alinea International. Alinea specializes in matching leading Canadian and international professionals to resolve some of the most pressing economic and social developmental challenges the world faces today. She has extensive knowledge working with international funding agencies and financial institutions such as Global Affairs Canada and the World Bank. In 2009, she was named one of Calgary’s top 40 under 40 and has three decades of experience volunteering for the accounting profession, taking on key leadership and governance roles. Geeta was named President and CEO of CPA Manitoba in April 2019. She represents Manitoba’s 9,000 CPA members, candidates and students

Benoit Theriault, CPA, Regional Growth Manager, The Boyd Group Inc.

Benoit

Benoit  is a graduate of the University of Winnipeg with a 4-year BBA and currently works as a Regional Growth Manager in Corporate Development with The Boyd Group Inc. recently receiving his CPA in September 2022. The Boyd Group is a multi-store operator and leader in the body, collision, calibration and glass industry. His day-to-day includes preparing, analyzing and presenting potential investment opportunities. Benoit's experience background includes:

  • Audit experience in large private audits as an Audit Associate;
  • Preparing valuation reports for small to mid-size companies as a Valuations Consultant; and
  • Providing expert reports and valuation reports for damage quantification and litigation as a Senior Accountant in Forensics. 

Benoit is currently pursuing his Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation and serves as the Director of Finance with the Rainbow Trout Music Festival on a volunteer basis.
