Master in Management

The University of Winnipeg's Master in Management program prepares experienced professionals for the challenges facing organizations. Are you ready to accelerate your career?

The MiM is open for applications in November each year and students must complete an application and pay the application fee by February 1 of the following year. Applications are reviewed in February and March and offers are then provided for an August start date. No other start dates are possible.

All students must attend the first 2 weeks and the last 2 weeks of condensed courses on campus in Winnipeg. Other courses in between these condensed courses are offered in regular semester formats either online or in-class. The program is available as a 1 year full time or 2 year part time schedule.

Master In Management Technology Innovation Operation

The Master in Management (MiM) at the University of Winnipeg was originally designed with industry executives to provide an opportunity for upcoming talent to complete a graduate degree while working.

The focus of this first MiM is on Technology, Innovation and Operations Management (MiM TIO). The 30 credits (10 courses) are designed to allow maximum flexibility: 2 courses at the onset are in a condensed format offered in August each year over 2 weeks on campus in Winnipeg called ‘Module 1’.

In ‘Module 2’ the courses are offered online, students take six interactive courses offered asynchronously over several semesters.

In ‘Module 3’, students come back on campus for another 2 weeks to complete their two final courses. The MiM TIO is offered part-time over two years, or full-time over one year. 

Master in Management Data Analytics

The Master in Management in Data Analytics at the University of Winnipeg is launching in 2023 in response to a growing demand from industry for graduates who can apply strategic thinking and technical skills to meet technological and complex changes in the workplace.

In Data Analytics, students take Module 1 of the Technology, Innovation and Operations (TIO) specialization on campus over a two-week period in August.  In Module 2, students complete 18 credits (6 courses) 4 are in person on campus in Winnipeg on data analytics, and 2 are interactive online courses from the TIO stream. In Module 3, students are on-campus completing the final 2 courses in an intensive two-week conclusion of the program.

The Data Analytics MiM is a full-time program at the onset, able to be completed over one year. Students in this stream need to demonstrate quantitative skills for entry, for example with a degree in business, economics, physics, statistics, finance, mathematics, or engineering. As in the TIO specialization, preference is to accept students with some professional/management experience to contribute to the depth discussions that occurs on such topics as leadership, strategy, and others.

In this course-based program, the offerings are flexible and include online courses and discussions, blogs, chat rooms, videoconferencing, and face-to-face interaction. The expected time to graduate is 1 year (full-time) or 2 years (part-time); maximum time allowed is 5 years.
