Requesting Cleaning:

To request cleaning services, email facilities@uwinnipeg.ca and provide the category of cleaning you require, along with additional details to note. Please review the Cleaning Standards to determine the cleaning category, or review the definitions of common cleaning requests:

Clean: Remove dust, stains, spills, debris, and soil using a cloth and cleaning agent. Surfaces must present a clean appearance immediately after service is performed.

Deep Cleaning: Vacuuming, sweeping, mopping and/or damp wiping surfaces thoroughly.

Spot Cleaning: Spot cleaning is an ongoing activity performed as needed. Visible stains, streaks or soilage
must be removed. Spray or streak marks from the cleaning agent must be wiped clean from the surface.

Shampoo (Carpets): Vacuum performance standards should be applied. Additionally, using a carpet shampoo cleaning machine, clean the entire carpeted area, and make sure to properly rinse out the shampoo solution.

Cleaning Schedule Inquiries:

Dexterra operates 7 days a week with staff working day, night and weekend shifts to service all areas of campus. If you would like to request a cleaning schedule change or would like to report inconsistent cleaning practices, contact us, and we will coordinate with Dexterra Management.

Facilities Management requires our cleaning contractor to adhere to all provisions of the Employment Standard Code in respect to wages, hours of work, and conditions of employment for both employees and individual subcontractors. All employees need to be trained on WHMIS as part of the University’s Safety Training program prior to working on University property.
