Quick steps — what you need to do
- Define the need
- What type of sign is required? (e.g., plaque, vinyl, removal)
- Exact location (building, floor, room number)
- Required date or deadline and reason
- Submit your request
- Complete the Signage Request Form.
- If you don’t have the form, send an email with the details listed in “Required info” below to the Facilities office.
- Required info to include
- Exact location (e.g., Wesley Hall, 3W09 — north door)
- Sign type and approximate dimensions / material preferences
- Exact text and any attachments (high-resolution logo, images of location)
- Requested installation date/urgency
- Budget code
- Requester contact (name, phone, department)
- Facilities review
- We confirm receipt and create a work order number.
- We check compliance with University branding and accessibility standards.
- If information is missing, we will request it.
- Design / Brand approval
- If artwork or layout is required, Marketing & Communications will review and approve the proof.
- We will send you a mockup for final approval.
- Cost estimate & approval
- If the sign requires vendor work, we obtain a quote.
- Proceeding requires budget approval or a purchase order.
- Production & scheduling
- Once approved, we place the work order and schedule installation with the Building Services Team.
- Installation
- Facilities installs and verifies the sign.
- Maintenance/removal
- Report damaged signs to the Facilities office.
- If an old sign needs removal or storage, indicate this in your original request.
