Lockhart Hall - Elevator Renovation (Dec Start)

There will be an essential modernization and renovation work on the building’s main Lockhart Hall Elevator. This upgrade is necessary to ensure the long-term safety, efficiency, and reliability of our building infrastructure. 

Start Date: The renovation is scheduled to begin the first week of December (tentative start date: Monday, December 1st). 

Duration: The project is estimated to take between 4 to 6 weeks to complete. During this period, the elevator will be completely out of service. 

  

General Access to the 6th Floor 

During the renovation period, the 6th floor will be accessible only via the building stairwell. The entrance to this stairwell can be reached using the Manitoba Hall Elevator and the Centennial Hall North Elevator. 

The other floors can be reached through the Centennial Hall Escalators, the Centennial Hall North Elevator and the Manitoba Hall Elevator. 

Please plan your commute, accordingly, allowing for extra time to use this alternative route. 

  

Critical Accessibility Notice 

We recognize that for some members of the 6th-floor community, there are currently no other accessible means of vertical transportation to reach your floor, only the building stairwell. 

This scheduled closure poses a serious challenge, and we are committed to ensuring every affected individual has proper communication in place before the renovation begins. 

We sincerely apologize for the significant inconvenience this necessary work will cause. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our building.
