Application deadline:  March 31, 2024

SCHOLARSHIPS

Jean Murray–Moray Sinclair Theatre Scholarships are for full-time students attending accredited theatre schools or university theatre programs who intend to pursue a career in theatre.

Students can be in a post-secondary program already, going into an upper year, or in currently in grade 12 - if they've been accepted to a school, or are currently auditioning/applying for a full-time program, they can apply!

Scholarships are funded by donations, so the number we can allocate and funding amounts vary. Scholarships generally range from $400-1000.

Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant, and a resident of Manitoba. Applications include the completed form, a resume or CV, a written statement, documentation of the school the student is attending/applying for, portfolio/supporting material for some disciplines, and letter of reference.

APPRENTICESHIPS

The Jean Murray-Moray Sinclair Apprenticeship Program is a paid job auditing experience for emerging artists and craftspeople to gain exposure to professional theatre work. Most recipients are recent graduates of post-secondary theatre training (within the past two years).

Apprenticeships are funded by donations. Apprentices receive $1600, but the number we can fund varies year to year.

Applicants must be a Canadian citizen or landed immigrant and a resident of Manitoba. Applications include the completed form, a letter of reference, a resume or CV, a written statement, portfolio/supporting material for some disciplines, and letter of reference. These letters are usually from a professor, supervisor, or director the applicant has recently worked with.
