New Series to Help Students Cope with Anxiety & Depression
Thu. Jan. 19 12:00 PM
- Thu. Feb. 9 01:30 PM
Many students identify that they experience anxiety and/or depression connected to school, relationships, and other life stressors. As a result, Student Counseling Services will be offering students an opportunity to attend a new series to learn skills and strategies to better manage stress and difficult emotions, and to alleviate symptoms of anxiety and/or depression.
The series will consist of four sessions, stretched over a month. Led by a trained facilitator, topics will include: meditation, principles of healthy living, goal-setting, problem-solving, anger/assertiveness skills, recognizing thinking traps, and using thought records. The sessions will be offered virtually in a larger group rather than a one-to-one basis. Attendees are not required to talk or speak in front of the large group.
The weekly sessions will take place on Thursdays, Jan. 19 – Feb 9, from 12 noon to 1:30 pm, via Zoom. To register, please email k.fix@uwinnipeg.ca
