Connecting with a Peer Wellness Educator

NEW! University of Winnipeg students are now able to connect one-to-one with a Peer Wellness Educator. Peer Wellness Educators provide a space to listen, facilitate discussions on various health and wellness topics, share information and resources, and encourage students to seek help when needed.

A Peer Wellness Educator may be helpful and appropriate if you:

  • Would like a private place to talk about your stressors with someone who shares the experience of being a student
  • Are interested in gaining more information about your health (i.e. mental, physical, sexual health) and general well-being
  • Are looking for strategies around coping and managing stress
  • Would like help navigating resources and supports both on and off campus

A Peer Wellness Educator is NOT appropriate if you:

  • Need ongoing support for complex mental health concerns or diagnoses
  • Are experiencing a crisis
  • Are having thoughts of suicide or self-harm

Contact studentwellness@uwinnipeg.ca or 204.258.3809 for more information on how to book time with a Peer Wellness Educator.
