Thousands of datasets are freely available through public data portals worldwide—but without a strategy, it’s easy to get lost. This hands-on workshop guides participants through locating, searching, and interpreting datasets from major open data portals at municipal, national, and international levels. You’ll learn how to refine your search, read metadata, assess dataset quality, and download data in usable formats. Ideal for researchers, students, and staff who want to build practical skills in finding open data for academic, programmatic, or personal projects.
This event is a part of Love Data Week 2026. Love Data Week is all about caring for data—finding it, understanding it, and ensuring it can be used and reused in the future. Join us for three complementary workshops that explore different stages of the research data journey, from discovery to sharing and preservation.
