The Research Office will be hosting a Zoom presentation open to eligible students and supervisors, providing guidance and advice on preparing applications for the Undergraduate Student Research Award (USRA) offered through the three Tri-Agencies: the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (NSERC), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC), and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Dr. Melanie Martin, the UW NSERC Leader, will also be present to offer insights and address questions.
The Tri-Agency Undergraduate Student Research Awards (USRA) aim to:
- Foster student interest in research
- Encourage pursuit of graduate studies
- Promote a career in research
Please be advised that, as part of Budget 2022, the federal government announced funding to support targeted scholarships and fellowships for promising Black students. Currently, SSHRC and CIHR USRAs are exclusively available to Black students.
