A note on permission forms and prerequisite waivers

The course instructor and/or Department Chair has the final say in choosing whether to grant permission forms or prerequisite waivers. For permission forms, priority is given to students who require the course to complete their majors. When requesting a prerequisite waiver, you must provide the instructor with your student number, GPA, and a rationale as to why you believe you can enter the class without the prerequisite. Prerequisites are in place to ensure that students have the necessary background knowledge to be successful in the course; if you can demonstrate that you have this knowledge, your request for a prerequisite waiver may be considered.
