English Literature Students Association

We acknowledge that we are gathered on ancestral lands, on the territories of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Dakota, Dene, Métis, and Oji-Cree Nations, and on Treaty 1 territory. We acknowledge that our water is sourced from Shoal Lake 40 First Nation.

ELSA was created by students of the University of Winnipeg so that anyone studying or interested in English Literature can easily join a community among members of the English faculty. It is an organization that strives to enrich students’ experiences at The University of Winnipeg by organizing social and academic events, hosting regular meetings, providing important resources and information on the department, and by building community among students.

ELSA schedules activities for its members like movie nights, book drives, and zine publication, as well as prioritizes connecting students to important resources within the department.

ELSA meets weekly in the HIVE on Mondays at 12:30 PM. For more information, email elsa.uwinnipeg@gmail.com, or find us on Twitter at @uw_elsa or Instagram at elsa.uwinnipeg

ELSA is a positive space that acts to foster and maintain a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment committed to being free from barriers, harassment, abuse and all forms of oppression.
