What We Do
Students from all departments are welcome at the Writing Centre!
A great thing about the services?
THEY ARE FREE!!!
The goals of the Writing Centre are to:
- Facilitate the process that leads a student to become a better writer,
- Help students become better at identifying problem spots in their own writing,
- Create a customized session for each student, focusing on writing concerns such as organization, argument development, supporting claims, specifics of working within an academic genre, audience awareness, and developing critical thinking,
- Help students become better editors of their own work, and
- Help students gain confidence in their writing ability.
What we don’t do
- We do not proofread or edit a student's papers.
- Instead, we will work with students to help them learn about writing, discover areas in which their writing can improve, and learn about how to resolve issues in their writing.
- We do not promise a good grade.
- We do not grade papers.
Live Zoom video-conference consultations
- The Writing Centre is offering Online Writing Tutoring through Zoom
- In person: Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Online: Anytime
- Please note: It may take up to 72 hours for confirmation of a Zoom appointment. Please have Zoom installed on your device before your appointment.
