Dennis Gupa's Selected for 2025 Pelion Summer Lab's Cultural Theory and Experimental Humanities

Assistant Professor Dennis Gupa was one of the selected cohorts for this year's Pelion Summer Lab run by the Cultural Theory and Experimental Humanities through the Department of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology and the Laboratory of Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly in Volos, Greece. This highly interdisciplinary summer lab will center on "Anthropo-scenes: Restaging climate dramas for environmental justice" and the relevance of "eco-dramaturgy" in contemporary practice of theatre and performance. Prof. Gupa is part of this year's cohort selected from around the world with faculty facilitators from various fields of discipline including geography, architecture, urban planning, and migration studies. One of the faculty members is Dina Stamatopoulou a well-known stage director, actress, playwright and Applied Theatre educator and practitioner and Head Designer of Educational and Creative Programs at the National Theatre of Greece Youth Stage. Prof. Gupa is excited to share his research on climate change, Indigenous ecological knowledge, and applied theatre and his recent Spring Course, "Applied Theatre and Climate Change" to the summer lab.
