The past year has been a busy one!

This past summer, Tom Soares worked with lead and supporting actors as the Dialect Coach on the upcoming Lionsgate film The Long Walk, adapted from Stephen King’s novel. Set in a harsh dystopian world, this gritty film features a strong cast (including Mark Hamill) and direction by Francis Lawrence (The Hunger Games, I Am Legend). Tom supported both US and UK actors with dialect design, helping them develop authentic voices and accents for characters from various American regions and socio-economic backgrounds. Look for its release in late 2025!

Throughout the fall and winter, Tom also worked as a Voice and Dialect Coach on multiple Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre productions, including The Recipe, Little Women, Waitress, and Murder for Two. The latter, a fast-paced mystery with two actors—Duncan Cox and Melanie Whyte—called for vocal and physical versatility. Tom supported Ms. Whyte in crafting distinct voices, accents, and seamless transitions across roles.

This spring, Tom returns as Text Coach for Shakespeare in the Ruins’ Macbeth, directed by Emma Welham. This timeless tale of ambition and fate will be performed outdoors at the historic St. Norbert Monastery, June 5 to July 5, 2025!
