Cairn is a director, playwright, and educator. She teaches performance at the University of Winnipeg and Prairie Theatre Exchange and is Associate Artistic Director of FemFest. Cairn’s award winning play SHIKSA premiered with Winnipeg Jewish Theatre in 2016 and was short-listed for the Chris Johnson Award: Breaking Through, (Co-written with Hope McIntyre) opens in May, 2017 and is Hope and Cairn’s second play written together. Their first play Jail Baby was both produced (Sarasvati) and published (Scirocco) in 2013. With the generous support of the Manitoba Arts Council, Cairn looks forward to returning to the second draft of her new play STIGMA.
