UW Hosts High Commissioner & Consul General of India

On May 11, 2026, #UWinnipeg was honoured to host His Excellency Dinesh K. Patnaik, India’s High Commissioner to Canada, and Mr. Mahaveer Singhvi, Consul General of India. While on campus, they met with members of UWinnipeg’s senior administration team, faculty researchers (Dr. Michael Beck and Dr. Chris Bidnosti from the TerraByte digital agriculture lab, and Dr. Russ Mammei and Dr. Jeff Martin from the Ultracold Neutron Guide Coating Facility), as well as several students. UWinnipeg has a long history of research collaboration with colleagues from India. In addition, students from India comprise almost 10% of UWinnipeg’s student population, contributing significantly to the vibrancy of our campus community.
