Success For Graduate Students at CAP Congress in Halifax


Travelling to conferences throughout June, joint University of Winnipeg / University of Manitoba graduate students in the physics department have had success presenting their research. At the Canadian Association of Physicists Congress in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Brad Cownden (supervisor Dr. Andrew Frey) placed 2nd for his oral presentation in the Division of Theoretical Physics. In the Division of Physics in Medicine and Biology’s oral competition, Kyla Smith (supervisors Dr. Christopher Bidinosti and Dr. Scott King) placed 1st and went on to the finals where she received an honourable mention. Kyla then travelled to Paris, France, for the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine’s Annual Meeting where she placed 3rd in MR Engineering for her e-poster presentation.
