Biography:

She is a graduate from the University of Winnipeg and certified as an athletic therapist in 2003. She completed her Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation in 2015 at the University of Manitoba, where she investigated several outcome measures altered by attentional focus in a golf putting task.

Val started teaching at the University of Winnipeg in January 2010 after a period of time living and working in Australia.  During her time overseas, she worked with a club rugby team and also taught at the Wodonga Institute of TAFE in the Department of Community Health Services.

Currently, Val is the Athletic Therapy practicum coordinator and through that role manages all internal and external placements both in the field and in the clinic.  Outside of the University of Winnipeg, she is involved with Team Manitoba softball and has worked as an athletic therapist at a variety of events including the 2015 Pan Am Games, 2015 Canada Winter Games, 2017 Canada Summer Games and is the medical liaison for the Manitoba Games.
