Augmented Reality Sandbox Helps Students Visualize Geography

The Centre for Academic Technology (CAT) worked in collaboration with Technology Solutions Centre (TSC), Physical Plant, and Printing Services to create an augmented reality sandbox. The sandbox uses 3D visualization applications to demonstrate geographic concepts while allowing users to physically shape and contour sand into a topographic model overlaid by the projection of an elevation colour map, contour lines, and simulated water.
