Four UWinnipeg students meet Michelle Obama


Four high-achieving women who are currently studying at The University of Winnipeg had the opportunity to interact with Michelle Obama while she is in Winnipeg on September 24, 2019. Their opportunity to meet the former First Lady was made possible by UWinnipeg and The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.

One of those students, Sidney Leggett, is studying applied computer science with a specialization in health technology. She has already made a contribution to the field of medical science by co-presenting results of her research into magnetic resonance imaging and brain function, in partnership with Dr. Melanie Martin, Professor of Physics. Leggett identifies as Metis.
