A Journey From Black Holes to Cancer Care Manitoba
Former UW undergrad Allison Kolly will discuss their path from published research on black holes to their current role at CancerCare Manitoba. They will demonstrate how many of the foundational skills obtained in academia can be applicable in various non-academic settings.
Bio: Allison Kolly received her Honours Bachelor's degree in Physics at the University of Winnipeg and went on to complete a Master's in Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences at McGill University. Currently, she works for the Manitoba Tomorrow Project at CancerCare Manitoba where she uses many of the skills she developed in academia to help the team prepare their data for external use.
