Cultural preservation

Facilitating dialogue, preserving cultural resources

Connect to history and culture as you explore the UWinnipeg Archives and Gallery 1C03's dedicated space for special collections, displays, and workshops.

The Archives and Gallery 1C03 are committed to facilitating dialogue with local communities and systems of knowledge. They are key stewards of significant local, regional, and national materials including UWinnipeg’s institutional memory and cultural history.

By sharing space, they will be able to combine programming, storage, and equipment needs, making it possible to meet Canadian Conservation Institute standards when obtaining cultural materials that are critical to teaching and research priorities. Meeting this credential is crucial to ensuring that the Art & Archives can continue to acquire unique collections, such as the Two-Spirit Archives.

YOUR LIBRARY EXPERIENCE WILL INCLUDE:
1.  New art gallery and archives reading room.
2.  Open, accessible book shelving.
3.  Cultural Education Workshops.
4.  Special collection areas and displays.
5.  Environmentally-controlled storage.
