EDI in Research

As an endorser of the Tri-Agency Dimensions Charter and a Dimensions-recognized institution, The University of Winnipeg is committed to fostering increased research excellence, innovation, and creativity across all disciplines, through greater equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI).

UWinnipeg also has a Canada Research Chair EDI Action Plan to address current and future underrepresentation of the four designated groups (those who have traditionally been disadvantaged in employment: women, racialized communities, Indigenous peoples, and persons with disabilities) among UWinnipeg chairholders.

In September 2022 UWinnipeg created a new Program Officer position in the Office of the Vice-President, Research and Innovation, for Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Anti-Racism, and Decolonization and Research. This role is the point person for EDI/AR/D training as it relates to research planning, development, and implementation at the individual faculty level and institutional planning level. To support researchers in applying EDI, anti-racism, and decolonizing principles to their research design and practice, the Program Officer, EDI/AR/D and Research, has developed and curated a variety of resources and training opportunities, which can be accessed via the sidebar menu.
