Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Research Certificate (2026)
The Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) in Research Certificate is an initiative developed by the Research Office to support faculty, staff, and students in integrating EDI principles into research design and practice. Originally piloted in 2023, the program continues to evolve to meet current research needs and priorities in the Canadian post-secondary context.
The certificate provides a strong foundation in applying EDI across all stages of research, including methods, approaches, knowledge mobilization, and data management. It also focuses on inclusive research practices such as team composition, recruitment, training, and creating respectful and equitable research environments.
Through a series of six modules, participants gain practical strategies, tools, and frameworks to incorporate EDI principles into their work and contribute to more inclusive and impactful research outcomes.
