Campus Living - Residence Life


Before Leaving Home

  1. Read your move in instructions email carefully! They will be emailed to you before you move in.
  2. Contact Campus Living before Aug 1 if you need to reschedule your move in time.
  3. Email your photo to Student Central for your student card (if you don't already have a card).
  4. Read the Campus Living Contract.
  5. If you have a car or bicycle, apply for parking.
  6. Learn what you should pack to bring with you, and what you're not allowed to bring to residence.
  7. Pack or order bed and bath linens.
  8. Setup a wifi account with MTS. (MTS agents may also be available on your move in day)
  9. Familiarize yourself with maps of the campus layout.
  10. Learn all about residence fees and how to pay them.
  11. If you are an international student, you can request an airport pickup ».

Preparing for Your Move In Day

The standard move in day for 1st year students is
Wednesday, August 30, 2017
from 9:00am to 4:00pm
The standard move in day for upper year students is
Saturday, September 2, 2017
from 9:00am to 4:00pm

Monitor your email for your move in details! Incoming residents are scheduled for the standard move in days, listed above. If you need to change your scheduled move day, you must contact Campus Living no later than August 10. Note that all requests are subject to Campus Living approval, and moving in before the standard move in day is generally not possible.

On the standard move in days listed above, go directly to your residence building at your scheduled move in time. Campus Living staff will be there to assist your move in process. They will give your key and/or access card and Residence Agreement to sign.

If you're moving on a non-standard move in day, you'll need to call your building's RA duty phone (it'll be in your move-in email) when you're on your way to your residence so the RA can be ready to check you in.

Residence Orientation & O-Week Events

Residence Orientation is mandatory for all new residents, and will take place on September 3 from 2-4pm in Convocation Hall.

Bed Linens, Internet & Parking

Residence LinensBed linen packages are available online from Residence Linens ». Residence Linens is a family-run Canadian business that specializes in providing linens to university residents. Download their PDF brochure here » and visit their website here ». When ordering, you will have the option to select "The University of Winnipeg" as your shipping address when you place your order. If you order by August 10, your linens will be delivered directly to your room by the time you arrive!

Wifi for our residence rooms is available through BellMTS ». Note that rooms do not come with wifi included so it needs to be setup through MTS. 

Parking for your car and/or bicycle is available from UWinnipeg Parking office »
